Imphal, April 18 2025: A joint sitting of the Maring Clans Forum (MCF) and the Maring Uparap Assembly (MUA) was held at the Khukarthil, Pallel residence of the MCF convenor on Friday.

In a statement, MCF informed that according to Resolution No 1 adopted during the sitting, the book release programme of "The Maring Seven Clans Genealogy & Cultural Ethos" scheduled at Manipur Press Club on April 19, would be in defiance of the stand of MCF and MUA related to clans of Maring and, also, an affront to the long standing cultural ethos of Maring tribe.

The joint body urged the organising committee to shelve the book release plan while cautioning that in case of any untoward incidents arising out of non-compliance, the responsibility shall be solely of the organising committee and the author of the book.
