Chief secretary inaugurates 13 AWCs, attends Mao League final

Chief secretary Puneet Kumar Goel accompanied by secretary (PHE/Tourism/IPR) Worshang Hungyo along with Senapati DC Mamoni Doley, SP Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir and several district officials visited Senapati on Saturday and inaugurated 13 newly constructed Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) under Pradhan Mantri Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan and Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM JAN-MAN) at Taphou Naga, Senapati.
The 13 newly constructed AWCs, under PM JANMAN for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG)-Maram tribe, inaugurated by the chief secretary are Sadim Taksagalung, Taklung, Naojai, Ngzamkhi, Maram Bazaar Baptist Church, Kalambam, Kadoilamduikong, Maralong- A, Maralong- B, Ntazang, Taphou Naga C, Sadim Naga and Rangalung.

Upon his arrival, a tree plantation programme under Ek Ped Maa Ki Naam 2.0 was conducted by the officials with coordination of Senapati division forest officer in the premises of newly constructed AWCs.
During the inauguration, Taphou Naga Village Authority welcomed the chief secretary and his team at Taphou Naga Anganwadi Centre.
The village secretary expressed words of appreciation for the development in their area.
The CS also interacted with Maram tribe leaders and encouraged them.
A welcome song was also sung by the children of the AWC on his visit and inauguration programme.
He later proceeded to the DC Office and interacted with DLOs and CSOs of the district at the DC chamber and conference hall, and then took stocks of the issues/grievances and projects/schemes taken under different departments, as briefed by respective heads.
Later, CS PK Goel attended the final match of the 3rd Edition of Mao Football League 2025, played between Kalinamei FC and Song Song FC at Asufii Football Academy (AFA), Astro Turf ground, Punanamei- Mao, Senapati.
Addressing the gathering, he congratulated the finalist teams and all the participating teams of Mao League.
He also applauded the people of Mao for promoting football games and expected the people of the region to go for higher level through debuting in higher league at state and regional level.
The chief host, Mao MLA Losii Dikho, in his keynote address, also congratulated the finalist teams.
On behalf of Mao Football Association, he stated that the football league was started to promote football in the area with the support of over 180 Mao officers.
He also stated that 60 guest players from across north-eastern region have been recruited in the league.
In the final match, Kalinamei FC won the 3rd Edition of Mao Football League 2025 by defeating Song Song FC 2-1 and the bagged the trophy along with the cash prize of Rs 3 lakh.
The match was also attended by secretary Worshang Hungyo, DC Mamoni Doley, 22 Sector AR commander brigadier Anshu-man Tripathi, SP Shaikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, 16 AR, Maram CO colonel Sandeep Sharma, SDOs, DLOs, Mao Council president and colleagues, CSOs and others.
