Imphal, February 15 2025: A five-day meeting aimed at developing essential glossary and terminology for mass communication concluded at Naorem Birahari College, Khundrakpam, Imphal East on Saturday.

The event was organised by the department of mass communication of the college in collaboration with the Commission of Scientific and Technical Terminology, Ministry of Education, with the objective of creating a comprehensive glossary for the field.

The project was supervised by head of the department of mass communication and state coordinator Dr Thokchom Vidyarani Devi.

The event featured media experts, including Thokchom Jogendrajit Singh (AIR Imphal), Raichandra Chingtham (AIR Imphal), Ningombam Noren (News18), Aribam Balkrishna (Sanaleibak Daily), Dr Khaidem Athouba (Sanaleibak), and Thounaojam Birdhaja (Hueiyen Lanpao), whose contributions enriched the development of crucial mass communication terminology.

The valedictory session witnessed the presence of assistant director (subject) of the Commission for Scientific and Technical Terminology, Ministry Of Education, Chakpram Binodini Devi as the chief guest.

Certificates were distributed to the participants of the meeting during the session.

The event was presided over by college principal in-charge Dr Irom Kunjabati Devi, while Governing Body secretary Usham Dijen Singh attended as the guest of honour.

Three faculty members from linguistics and three from mass communication departments of the college were also present as experts.
