Thoubal, June 13 2025:
A Joint Action committee has been formed over the mysterious death of Sanasam Jackson, who was found hanging on June 11 at a De-addiction centre called 'Anouba Itinpham' located at Narilkonjil Makha Leikai.
The "JAC Against the Mysterious Death of Sanasam Jackson Singh" was formed today during a public meeting held at Haokha Mamang Leikai Community Hall.
After forming the JAC, the gathering blocked half the road of NH 102 and staged a sit-in protest demanding thorough investigation of the incident.
During the protest, placards with inscriptions like "We condemn the mysterious death of Jackson," "We want justice", "Find the culprit", were used by the protesters.
Raising serious concerns over the nature of death, JAC Convenor Yumnam Ratan said that the circumstances that lead to the death of Jackson are quite suspicious.
He said that the place where Jackson was found hanging and the rope or towel which was used is quite contradictory to the scars that were left on his neck.
Therefore, as per a resolution adopted by the people of the locality, they have decided to form a JAC, and to launch various forms of agitation until justice is delivered, said Ratan.
He also said that the JAC has resolved to not claim Jackson's body until the authorities take appropriate action against those responsible for his death.
