Students advised to cultivate knowledge outside books

The 11th Felicitation and Meritorious/Incentive Prize distribution function of Class X & XII passed students was organised at Konthoujam Kangjeibung Community Hall on Sunday.
Around 76 students residing in and around Konthoujam GP area were honoured in the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Health/IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh expressed that the present trend of academic atmosphere needs a holistic perspective.
Every student needs strong willpower to polish oneself in almost various fields, he stated.
Appealing to all students to approach the seniors and learn the strategy in their study patterns and how one should not only study but rather know how to answer properly; he urged the students to cultivate knowledge about their own state minutely.
He continued that things about its components of formation, conception and its present scenario should be studied.
Every student should be aware of all the districts and the different communities residing in it.
Knowing about its transition period will surely help each student gain not only bookish knowledge but holistic approach that should be adapted to their learning methods, stressed the minister Dr Ranjan also reflected on objective of the Government's School Phagathansi Mission to improve the education system of the state.
Relief & Disaster Management director KG Daigong , LYS Group, Kwakeithel managing partner Laishram Ratan Kumar, and Administrative Committee of Yurembam Zilla Parishad member Th Robindro Singh were some of the dignitaries present.
On the other hand, the distribution function of the first Kabi Khwairakpam Chaoba Meritorious Award 2024 sponsored by Uripok AC MLA Kh Raghumani, was organised by All Uripok Apex Body (AUAB) at IMA Hall, Lamphel on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kh Raghumani remarked that instead of giving maximum preference to engineering and medical science, other career options such as civil services could be considered.
Parents should also refrain from pressurising the children with regard to career choices, he asserted.
The function was attended by AUAB president L Bimol Kishor as president, Patsoi AC MLA Sapam Kunjakeshwor alias Keba, and Uripok councillors and corporators as guests of honour.
During the function, meritorious students of Class X and XII examinations were honoured with cash prizes and certificates.
