Five UGs including juvenile rescued by AR, felicitated

Imphal, June 08 2024:
Two cadres of the proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA) and three cadres of the proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) or PREPAK (Pro) including a juvenile were rescued by the Assam Rifles.
The rescued UG cadres were felicitated in a ceremony held at the Haflong hall of IGAR (South) headquarters in Mantripukhri.
IGAR (South) Maj Gen Ravroop Singh warmly welcomed the five cadres back to the mainstream during the ceremony also attended by 9 Sector AR Cdr Brig Ananya Boral and 26 Sector AR Cdr Brig Vedpal Yadav.
Meanwhile, PRO IGAR (S) said in a statement that all the five cadres, who were staying in their respective camps, had to flee to Manipur owing to the unstable situation in Myanmar.
After receiving the information, AR rescued them safely as part of its endeavour to ensure peace in Tengnoupal district.
Maj Geri Ravroop Singh praised the bravery of the five cadres and said that their mothers play important role in ensuring return of the youth to mainstream.
