Jiribam, August 07 2025: The 1st Foundation Day of Young Manipuri Council, Assam (YMCA) was celebrated along with a public meeting at Banga Bhavan in Sadarghat, Silchar, on Thursday.

The function was attended by Manipuri Autonomous Council Demand Coordination Committee, Assam chairman Kangabam Shantee Kumar Singh, YMCA president Romen Luwang and Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Assam former president Ngangom Joykumar Singh as chief guest, president and special guest respectively while Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Assam former GS & VP Surjya Kumar Sharma; Assam Manipuri Kala Akademi, Silchar president Laishram Manglemba Singha; All Assam Manipuri Women Meira Paibi Coordination Committee president K Aruna Devi;

YMCA celebrates 1st foundation day

YMCA legal advisor advocate Ng Ramakanta Singha; AUS linguistic department professor Kh Dhiren Singha; Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN), Jiribam District Council president Senjam Sainikumar Singh; Ramnagar-Tarapur GP ex GP president Konjengbam Niva Rani Devi; and Women Action Committee for Village Protection president Sunita Konthoujam were the presidium members.

As part of the celebration, academic presentations were delivered by SS College, Hailakandi associate professor and department of History head Dr Yumnam Manidhan Singha and Madhura Sanatan Samiti High School assistant teacher Dhiren Nongthombam on the topics "Chahi Taret Khuntakpa Matupgda Assamgi Rajnitida Meitei Meeteimachasingna Louramba Thoudaang and "Assam da Choijainana Tariba Manipurisinggi Socio-Eco-Politics ki Fivamsida Naharolsinggi Thoudaang" respectively.

YMCA Central Committee general secretary Roshan Erom also highlighted the council's journey and vision for the future.
