President petitioned on Manipur violence

Moidangpok Khullen Women's Society submitted a memorandum to President Droupadi Murmu through Governor Anusuiya Uikey urging to look into Manipur conflict lingering for over than a year.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday after submitting the memorandum, Society secretary Khundrakpam Binasakhi appealed to the government to end the conflict at the earliest.
She informed that the memorandum submitted to the President included demand for implementation of NRC to deport illegal immigrants, revocation of the SoO agreement signed with the Kuki armed groups, removal of 'Kuki' illegal immigrant from the ST list and to stop arresting village volunteers who are protecting the villages in fringe areas.
Urging the newly elected MP and the chief minister to sit down together and chalk out ways for protecting the indigenous people, she reiterated the demand for ending the conflict at the earliest as it has affected the people.
