Water, power supply shutdown announced

The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) has announced temporary halt in water supply services across several localities in Imphal, citing the ongoing flood situation as the cause of disruption.
According to PHED Water Supply Maintenance Division No 2, water supply has been suspended in areas serviced by the Porompat Water Treatment Plant, including Rahmania, Thambalkhong, New Checkon, Nongmeibung, Tribal Colony, Khamlabung Leirak, Soibam Leikai, Ayangpalli Road, Kongpal, Khurai Sajor Leikai, Thoudam Leikai, Thangjam Leikai, Tinsid Road, Telipati, Wangkhei Khunou, Hatta, and Top Khongnang Makhong.
Similarly, areas covered by the Ningthem Pukhri Water Treatment Plant - such as Nongmeibung Chakpram Leirak, Palace Compound, Wangkhei Angom Leikai, Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak, Ningthem Pukhri Makha Leirak, Awang Leirak, Sabi Leirak, Thangapat Mapal, Wangkheimayum Leirak, St George Leirak, and Wangkhei area - are also affected by the supply disruption.
Water supply has additionally been suspended in areas managed by the Old and New Thumbuthong Water Treatment Plants, including Guruaribam Leirak, Advanced Hospital Road, Harikhagok Makhong Leirak, Bachaspatimayum Leirak, Takhel Khong, Brahmapur Thangjam Leirak, Singjamei Bheigyabati Leirak, Tensubam Leirak, Harinath Road, Laishram Leirak, Mandalay Leirak, and Aribam Leikai.
Singjamei Ward No 17 will also experience water supply suspension, affecting localities such as Singjamei Sapam Leikai, Oinam Thingel, Waikhom Leikai, Leishangthem Leikai, and Mayengbam Leikai.
The PHED has assured that normal water supply will resume once the floodwaters recede.
On the other-hand, Manipur State Power Company Limited has announced for general information that the 132/33/11 kV Kongba sub-station shall be under emergency shutdown effective from 5.10 am Tuesday due to flooding of the substation's equipment.
According to MSPCL sub division-III manager Nongthombam Arun Singh, there will be power outage in areas covered by the Kongba sub-station.
