Cabinet fixes June 3 for Delhi trip

Chief Minister O Ibobi today convened an emergency meeting of his Council of Ministers today and decided to lead an all party delegation to New Delhi on June 3 to seek the President's assent to the three Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on August 31 last year.
Government spokesman M Okendro said that the meeting which started at 5 pm at the Chief Minister's Secretariat deliberated on the ongoing mass movement for enactment of ILPS or a similar mechanism in Manipur in order to protect all the indigenous people of the land.
Apart from the President, the all party delegation will also meet the Prime Minister Narednra Modi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other relevant Union Ministers.
The delegation would give a detailed account of the ongoing mass movement to all the Central leaders.
The meeting also deliberated on different modes of agitation being undertaken by students and resultant confrontation with police.
Taking series note of the ever increasing casualties suffered by students, holidays for all Government, Government aided and private schools in the valley districts jhave been declared from May 31 to June 2 .
An official order to this effect was issued today evening.
