Highlighting the State's appalling economic condition and the failure of the President's Rule administration to take up any meaningful development programme, NPP MLA Khuraijam Loken has expressed keen desire for holding fresh elections after dissolving the existing Manipur Legislative Assembly.
It would be better for Manipur and the people for the Assembly to be dissolved and fresh polls conducted, added the MLA.
Incidentally, NPP is a partner of NDA led by BJP.
Kh Loken today inaugurated an open gym named Irom Meijrao Apunba Open Gym at Irom Meijrao Mamang Leikai today.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Loken said that all the planned development activities of Wangoi AC could not be implemented because of the protracted violent crisis.
"Nonetheless, I will continue to make every effort to implement all the planned development activities", he said.
He said that as many as 17 open gyms are being constructed within Wangoi AC .
Noting that many roads in different Assembly segments including Wangoi are in very bad shape, Loken said that he has been making every effort to construct/repair all the dilapidated roads of Wangoi AC .
Some people may feel bad and even obstruct development of drainage system within Wangoi AC because expansion of the drains affect their lands, Loken said.
He then called upon all the people to prioritise community interest over self interest.
Loken said that the PR administration has not been doing anything significant for the development of the State.
