He continued to say that the rally was organised with COCOMI at the forefront so that public resolutions can be passed to tackle the one year and almost two months old conflict that has besieged Manipur.
Adding that the rally is being taken out to save the indigenous communities, he maintained that the Indian Government's failure to bring any resolution to the protracted conflict is unfortunate and troubling.
Asking whether Manipur is being alienated by the Central Government, he suggested that the resolutions taken at the rally should be presented at the ongoing Parliamentary session.
Lastly, Ningthoujam Dhanakumar Meitei reiterated his appeal to State legislators and Government employees to participate in the rally adding that the people and the Government can work in tandem to save Manipur.
In a separate press conference held at COCOMI Office, Lamphelpat, Y Leirik Leima, coordinator, COCOMI Women Wing urged at least one person from each household to step out for the rally to present a common and united front in the fight to save Manipur.
She further called for participation of State legislators, representatives of political parties, Government employees, students, meira paibis and womenfolk and menfolk of all ages, involved in different trades in the mass rally.
