Imphal, February 25 2025: Responding to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla's appeal to surrender all looted and illegal weapons and ammunition, a large number of assorted weapons, ammunition and explosives were surrendered today at Bishnupur.

The weapons, ammunition, explosives and other items surrendered today were;

Nambol police station

1.One SBBL (country made), 2.one rifle (country made), 3.four SBBL, 4.one DBBL, 5.one .303 rifle with one magazine & 15 live rounds, 6.one tear smoke gun, 7.six nos.of 7.62 mm live round, 8.one 36 hand grenade, 9.one smoke grenade, 10.one stun shell, 11.three tear smoke shells (normal), 12.four tear smoke shells (soft nose), 13.one tear smoke shell LR, 14.three Baofeng hand sets, 15.one BP plate, 16.eight BP vests, 17.four assault vests, 18.three multi magazine pouches and 19.six armour helmets.

Moirang police station 1.one SBBL, 2.one DBBL, 3.one carbine SMG with one magazine, 4.70 live rounds of .303 ammunition, 5.10 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 6.one 36 HE hand grenade and 7.two tear smoke shells. Phougakchao Ikhai police station

1.one SBBL gun, 2.five 12 bore cartridges, 3.one smoke bomb, 4.three BP jackets, 5.two helmets, and 6.one hand held Baofeng set.

Commando Bishnupur

1.one SLR with one magazine, 2.one INSAS with two magazines, 3.two DBBL guns, 4.three SBBL guns, 5.one 303 rifle (local made) with one magazine & 23 live rounds, 6.two 303 rifles, 7.one local made .22 pistol with one magazine, 8.one unknown magazine, 9.one lathod shell, 10.two rounds AK ammunition, 11.ten 7.62 ballister cartridges, 12.27 live rounds of M-16 ammunition, 13.two Chinese hand grenades, 14.seven 36 HE hand grenades, 15.one mortar shell, 16.one stun grenade, 17.three detonators, 18.three BP plates, 19.20 vests, 20.14 BP helmets, 21.nine shirts and 22.one pants.

Of the 24 arms, eight magazines, 169 rounds of ammunition, 26 explosives and 81 other items surrendered to Bishnupur district police, seven arms including one tear smoke gun, one SMG carbine with one magazine, one SLR with one magazine, one INSAS with two magazines and two 303 rifles with one magazine each are suspected to be looted arms.
