CCpur, January 21 2017:
Several tribal apex bodies that had delegated their representatives to the JACAATB for the past one and a-half-year have reportedly pulled back their representatives over the week but a defiant JACAATB today declared that it will pay tributes to the 'tribal martyrs' at Salpha Pumbuk on January 26 .
On Monday, the Paite Tribe Council (PTC), Vaiphei Peoples' Council (VPC) and the Mate Tribe Council (MTC) declared their withdrawal from the JACAATB.
The Thangkhal Peoples' Organisation (TPO) too followed suit but the JACAATB today said it convened a joint meeting today afternoon wherein it deliberated on the way forward.
'The meeting of leaders from the tribe/community based organisations of the Mizo, Paite, Simte Tedim Chin and Zou deliberated on the way forward and resolved to participate in the upcoming tribute programme for the tribal martyrs planned by the YPA GHQs on January 26 at Salpha Pumbuk,' said the JAC.
The decision of several tribal apex bodies to withdraw from the JACAATB has drawn mixed reaction from the public with some nodding in agreement while others particularly, the YPA and Siamsinpawlpi have rebuked the decision.
