The
Kuki Students' Organization
(KSO, GHqs) and All Naga
Students' Association,
Manipur (ANSAM) have
delayed the announcement of
the date and mode of agitation
though the ultimatum served to
the State Government ended
today.
A joint statement of the
two student bodies signed by
Seiboi Haokip, general secre-
tary, KSO-GHqs and AC
Thotso, Education Secretary,

tum served to the Manipur
Government to regularize the
service of the hill districts
contract basis teachers 2006
batch under the Directorate
of Education (S) to rule out
the problems of acute shortage teacher in hills schools culminated today.
"Therefore, we are necessitated to take up any form of
democratic agitations but in view of the proposed United Naga
Council (UNC) bandh in Manipur, the time schedule and the
mode of agitation will be announced very shortly," it added.
The two student bodies further said that in spite of "our
genuine demand, the Government of Manipur has turned a
deaf ear and is reluctant to bring concrete solution till date
even after a joint press conference was held on January 13 at
Tribal Research Institute, Imphal, as a reminder for necessary
action."
All the respective constituent units of KSO-GHqs and
ANSAM have been informed to prepare.
It added that the date
and mode of agitation will be declared very soon.
