Preps on in full swing for Sangai Festival

Imphal, November 19 2025:
Despite the boycott call that has been raised by different sections of the people including internally displaced persons and civil bodies, preparations for the Manipur Sangai Festival have intensified.
The Manipur Sangai Festival is scheduled to be held from November 21 to November 30 .
To attract more visitors during the festival, the cycle velodrome in Imphal is being converted into an amusement park.
Heavy machinery is being used to install and assemble structures such as giant wheels, Columbus (swinging ship), mini trains and stalls etc .

Deputy Commissioners of Imphal West and Imphal East visited the venue and inspected the progress of the works at the Khuman Lampak venue this evening.
50 percent of the construction at the venue has been completed.
Next to the cycle velodrome complex, preparations for an adventure sports arena are also being taken up in full swing.
Officials of the Y outh Affairs and Sports are looking after the construction works at the Khuman Lampak complex.
With only a day left, beautification works are also being carried out at the venues of the festival and the roads leading to it.
The preparations are being taken up under tight security measures.
