50,000 WY tablets seized from Lilong

Police seized a large consignment of WY tablets and 48 gram of heroin in a span of 24 hours.
While a combined team of Imphal East and Thoubal commandos along with Lilong police arrested three drug smugglers along with 50,000 pieces of WY tablets from Lilong Haraorou last night, another team of Imphal West commandos and Thoubal police seized 48 gram of heroin and WY tablets weighing around 100 grams today from Sangaiyumpham Mairenkhun Mayai Leikai.
A combined team of Imphal East commandos, Thoubal commandos and personnel of Lilong police arrested the three drug smugglers along with 50,000 pieces of WY tablets during a search operation at Lilong Haraorou last night.
The three arrested persons have been identified as Md Imtiyazur Rahaman alias Nanao (24) s/o Md Nur Rahaman of Lilong Haraorou, Md Amir Khan (24 years), s/o (L) Md Lahimuddin of Lilong Yangbi Leikai, Boroi Makhong, Thoubal and Abdur Wahid (36), s/o Md Nasir Ahamed of Keikhu Makha Leikai.
According to sources, the combined team carried out the search operation at Lilong Haraorou on receiving input about the presence of some drug smugglers there during which the three persons were arrested.
From them, 50,000 pieces of WY tablets were seized along with one Maruti Suzuki Eco Van, one Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire and some other items.
All three of them have been handed over to Lilong police station along with the seized items.
Meanwhile, another team of Imphal West commandos and Thoubal police Station raided a house at Sangaiyumpham Mairenkhun Mayai Leikai and seized four soap cases containing 48 gram of heroin and five plastic pouches containing WY tablets weighing around 100 grams this morning.
The house belongs to Mayangmayum Ethemcha (28), s/o M Alao of Sangaiyumpham Mairenkhun Mayai Leikai.
Reportedly, the house was unoccupied during the time of the raid.
On searching the residential complex, the combined team found a newly dug spot near a pond, following which they (the police team) requested the locals to be witnesses, said sources adding that the locals, however, didn't cooperate with the police team.
Later, the spot was searched in the presence of a gazetted police officer and four soap cases containing heroin (48 grams approx) and five blue plastic pouches containing WY tablets (100 grams approx) were found.
It is said that the police are on a manhunt to nab the accused.
The seized articles, on the other hand, have been handed over to Thoubal police station.
