WC prediction contest winner expresses gratitude

Imphal, August 18 2026: A longtime subscriber of The Sangai Express (TSE) for over two decades has expressed happiness after winning a special lucky draw organised by the newspaper in connection with the FIFA World Cup 2026 .

Chingakham Joymala, a resident of Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai, said her husband, Thongam Hemchandra, won the prize after correctly predicting the answer to the second question in the lucky draw.

The question was, which team would emerge the runners up in the World Cup.

She thanked TSE, being the largest circulated newspaper in Manipur, for providing everyone a platform to join the excitement surrounding the global football tournament.

She said that her family has been subscribing to the English edition of TSE for over 20 years.

Joymala also said that her children are avid readers of the newspaper, which they read to keep themselves informed about current affairs and prepare for their competitive examinations.

Expressing her happiness over the unexpected win, she once again thanked TSE for maintaining a longstanding relationship with its readers.
