Imphal, June 17 2025:
The people, as a whole, including the Meiteis and the Kukis should receive the mortal remains of the two daughters of Manipur--Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson and it should serve as the foundation of building trust and peaceful coexistence, MLA Joykisan has said.
He said this while extending monetary aid towards the treatment of injured Naharolgi Thoudang reporter Heikham Jadumani at the latter's home at Keirao Bitra Makha Leikai today.
Heikham Jadumani had met with an accident on June 5 .
While wishing speedy recovery of the ailing reporter, Joykisan said the people of the State as one should receive the remains of Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson with highest respect and dignity.
COCOMI's recent proposal to receive the remains of the two daughters of Manipur in Imphal is a good gesture and a right approach, he said.
Hatred and enmity among the different communities and people will not bring anything good.
People must learn to forgive and forget to coexist peacefully.
The people and CSOs of the hills and the valley must come together as one and receive the remains of the Nganthoi and Lamnunthem Singson, he said.
The majority of the people of Manipur want peace.
Prolonging conflict will only "harm us" .
Receiving the remains of the two daughters of the State together--this should serve as the base to build up unity among the hills and the valley again and restore peace, Joykisan said.
Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson were crew members of the Air India flight which crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12 .
