Najma notes place of painting in humanity

A State level painting competition on National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation 2019 was held at Raj Bhavan here today.
The competition was organized by NHPC Ltd in association with Government of Manipur and Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSP-DCL) as a part of the National awareness campaign launched by the Ministry of Power for promoting energy conservation in the country.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, Governor Dr Najma Heptulla said that State level competition under the theme "Energy Conservation" is being organized for the last three years with an objective to promote energy conservation.
Stating that the first competition was held at Raj Bhavan on November 11, 2016, the Governor said that the Ministry of Power has been organizing painting competitions on energy conservation to inculcate thought on energy efficiency among students since 2005.Organizing such competitions among the students will certainly have a good impact on the minds of young students, she added.
Congratulating the winners of the National level Painting Competition, 2018 held on December 14, 2018, she said that painting always has a special place in the life of humanity.
The vision of the artist explores the heart of things, looks for many forms in one and shows them as such.
Manipur bagged three prizes at National level along with the Best Nodal Officer award in 2018 .
The Governor said that the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power had launched "National Awareness Campaign on Energy Conservation" to create better appreciation and understanding of the need for energy conservation in the country and the steps taken up will bring better understanding on the subject and help in nurturing innovative ideas to make India an energy sufficient Nation on the global map.
Remembering the renowned painter of Manipur (Late) RK Chandrajit Singh, popularly known as RKCS, Dr Najma said that many beautiful paintings adorn Raj Bhavan, Imphal and she would like to keep more and more beautiful paintings in the Raj Bhavan.
She added that among the young students there may be a few painters like renowned painter late RKCS.
Art & Culture Minister L Jayantakumar Singh said that nurturing the mindset of the young children is very important for developing human resources.
Painting is an important part of art and culture as it develops the hidden talent of young children.
Parents and guardians are taking keen interest in making their children study the art of painting.
He also said that the young children will be able to present their innovative ideas through their paintings regarding energy conservation which has become an indispensable part of the human life.
The talent of the children of the State is not less compared to children in other parts of the globe, he added.
The competition is held under two categories � Group A comprising students from Class 4-6 and Group B with students from Class 7-9.Altogether 54,941 students from 565 schools took part in the competition at the school level.
The winners of each category will take part in the National Level Painting Competition to be held at Delhi on December 12, 2019 .
The students along with their parents will be sponsored by NHPC to participate in the National Level Competition.
First Prize winner of the National Level Painting Competition in each category will get cash award of Rs one lakh, a fixed deposit of Rs one lakh and a Laptop.
Likewise for the second and third prize winners, they will be awarded cash prize of Rs 50,000 with fixed deposit of Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 with fixed deposit of Rs 30,000 with a laptop respectively.
Consolation prizes of Rs 15,000 each will also be given to 10 participants of each category.
L Priyokumar, Managing Director, MSPDCL, Aloke Kumar Ghosh, CGM, Loktak Power Station, NHPC Ltd, Rajesh Kumar, Sr Manager (HR) and Nodal Officer, NHPC, parents and guardians of students were present at the function.
