Imphal, August 12 2024:
The KCP-Military Affairs Committee (KCP-MAC) has greeted all sections of people on the 20th raising day (August 13) of its armed wing Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi (MFL) .
A statement issued by the outfit said that August 13 assumes greater significance as it is also the Patriots' Day which stands as a historical testimony of the people's struggle against colonialism and imperialism.
It said that MFL was established on August 13, 2004 at Chothe Munpi, Henglep sub-division, Churachandpur district.
The outfit also paid homage to all the patriots who laid down their lives for their cause of Manipur's sovereignty in the 1891 war against British colonists.
It also paid tributes to all the revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives in the course of the revolutionary movements across WESEA.
The outfit further expressed solidarity with all the people who have been maimed for life due to atrocities committed by the enemy, those languishing in jails and the displaced people who have been living like refugees in their own homeland.
It was on August 13, 1891 that Koireng Yuvraj and Thangal General were hanged to death in public at Pheidabung.
As in the previous years, people would be observing the Patriots' Day on August 13 both inside Manipur and beyond, it said before appealing to all the people to renew the collective resolve to restore the sovereignty of Manipur.
The Government of India has been employing several policies and strategies to suppress and finish off the revolutionary groups of WESEA.
It has been many years since the Assam Rifles started using Kuki narco-terrorists to suppress the Naga revolutionary movement, it alleged.
It further alleged that the Government of India armed and instigated Kuki narco-terrorists to attack unarmed Meitei people.
Thus the Government of India launched a proxy war against the Meitei people on May 3, 2023 .
Even after 15 months, the violence has not stopped.
As a result of the continued violence, the State's political affairs, economy, culture, traditions, education, healthcare and all sectors have collapsed.
This is exactly what India planned, it alleged.
Currently, Manipur is facing a serious issue of influx from Myanmar and the situation may aggravate further considering the recent political crisis in Bangladesh, the outfit warned.
It also quoted reports on US determination to create a Christian State covering parts of Bangladesh, Myanmar and India.
Manipur is now facing many serious challenges and the people cannot overlook these challenges.
The people need to put in collective efforts to overcome these challenges, it said.
Cooperation, coordination, collective wisdom and collective efforts constitute the Social Capital.
According to Robert D Putnam, Social Capital can solve many critical issues which cannot be solved at individual level.
Social Capital can guide, accelerate National policies and enhance mutual trust among the people.
Putnam's definitions of Social Capital can be studied in the context of Manipur, the outfit asserted.
All the challenges facing Manipur must be tackled with collective wisdom and tactfulness.
For this, people need to build up Social Capital, the outfit added.
