Imphal, June 11 2024: Unidentified persons suspected to be militants lobbed two hand grenades at the residential compound of a former technical chairman of Wushu Association of India (WAI) at Brahmapur Nahabam tonight and torced one four wheeler vehicle.

Reportedly, one hand grenade exploded while the other didn't .

The locals were perturbed as the unexploded bomb wasn't picked up till 9 pm when this report was filed.

According to the grandchildren of Mayanglambam Biramani, retired technical chief of WAI, they were playing in the courtyard when they heard the explosion.

They said that they rushed inside their house soon after the bomb went off .

Reportedly, they (the family of Biramani) found the four wheeler vehicle parked in the courtyard set on fire a few minutes later.

It is said that the unknown miscreants asked where Dr Amit (a neuro surgeon at JNIMS and the eldest son of Biramani) lives before lobbing the bombs.
