3 women from Manipur held with drugs

In major crackdowns on narcotics smuggling, Assam Police have arrested four individuals including three women from Manipur and recovered drugs worth Rs 10 crore in two separate operations.
The Rs 10 crore drugs seized include heroin worth Rs 4 crore, seized from the three women from Manipur, and a total of 20,000 Yaba tablets, seized from an individual at Changkuri, Silchar.
The three women suppliers of the heroin arrested by the Basistha Police have been identified as Kimneihoi, Tingneilam, and Lahlam, The Sentinel reported.
The seizure of the Rs 10 crore worth of drugs was informed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday.

"Cachar Police and Assam Rifles personnel "gatecrashed another bash at Changkuri with Rs 6 crore worth of Yaba Tabs," Sarma said.
As per The Sentinel's report, the three women were arrested by the Basistha Police in a meticulously planned operation, launched acting on specific intelligence.
The police team intercepted the three and recovered 35 soap boxes containing a total of 420 grams of suspected heroin.
Quoting officials, the report said, the women were transporting the drugs from Manipur with the intention of distributing them within Guwahati and nearby areas.
The contraband was carefully packed to evade detection during transit.
On the other hand, the 20,000 Yaba Tablets worth Rs 6 crore were seized by Silchar police and personnel of the 38th Battalion Assam Rifles (Srikona) on Sunday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint team conducted an operation at Changkuri Bypass, Silchar, around 2.30 pm, and arrested Rahul Amin (33), a resident of Panchayat Road, Silchar along with the Yaba tablets, said the India TodayNE.
Silchar Police have taken custody of the accused and the seized drugs for further investigation.
