Mothers' Day observed with call for peace

Imphal, May 10 2026: With a prayer for end to the violent crisis besieging Manipur for the past three years, the Manipur Baptist Convention (MBC), Centre Church observed Mothers' Day at its premises at Chingmeirong today.

Speaking at the event, MBC Centre Church Pastor Zoukangmang Daimai prayed that the Mothers' Day may bring an end to the widespread violence seen in Manipur since 2023 .

He also conveyed best wishes to all mothers of Manipur.

If one treats one's mother like a God, one will certainly become a successful person, Zoukangmang Daimai said.

The Pastor also prayed for early return of peace and normalcy in Manipur, which has been on the burn since the evening of May 3, 2023, with violence first erupting at Churachandpur and which quickly spread to other parts of the State.

The event featured singing of hymns and presen- tation of gifts to mothers.
