Govt gears up for Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

The State Government is all set to organise the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign across Manipur from August 9 to 17, announced Art and Culture Secretary Naorem Praveen today.
The Art & Culture Department unveiled an elaborate programme for the campaign during a press conference held at the Civil Secretariat, Mantripukhri, today.
The campaign will feature a series of activities designed to strengthen the spirit of National unity, and inspire citizens from all walks of life to actively join the celebration.
Through these programmes, the Department seeks to ensure that the Tricolour reaches every nook and corner of Manipur, making the campaign a true people's movement.

In the press conference, Praveen said that the campaign will also commemorate the 150th anniversary of "Vande Mataram", with a series of patriotic and cultural programmes.
He added that the campaign will feature a State-level Vande Mataram-themed Tiranga Concert at MSFDS Hall on August 12 in collaboration with the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) .
The concert will be attended by the Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs and senior Government officials, he informed.
Tiranga and Vande Mataram exhibitions will also be organised at schools, colleges and prominent public places to educate students and the public on the significance of the National flag and the National song, he added.
Praveen maintained that a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary reviewed the preparations, with Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners and officials of various departments finalising activities to be conducted across the State.
Bike/cycle rallies will be organised across districts and Gram Panchayats, while educational institutions will host Tiranga-inspired artwork competitions, he further said, adding that Tiranga-themed rangolis will also be created at prominent locations as part of the week-long campaign.
He continued that all Government offices and important public buildings will be illuminated in the colours of the National Tricolour during the campaign.
Stating that around two lakh National Flags have been kept ready for distribution, he added that all departments have been asked to submit their requirements to the General Administration Department.
Tiranga selfie points will also be set up across Imphal and other districts, he said, encouraging members of the public to upload their photographs on the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) will coordinate publicity and document the events through photographs and videos.
As part of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14, the State and district administrations will organise commemorative programmes and public awareness events.
Schools, colleges and universities have also been encouraged to participate in the National Online Quiz on the MyGov portal from August 1 to September 15 .
He appealed to all departments, educational institutions, civil society organisations and the public to actively participate in the campaign.
Art and Culture Director K Dinamani Singh and Joint Secretary Sunanda Thokchom also attended the press conference among others.
