Imphal, July 05 2026: Altogether 19,34,399 electors out of the total 20,93,076 voters in Manipur have submitted their enumeration forms during the the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls.

The SIR exercise in the State was conducted under the supervision of the Election Commission of India from May 30 to June 28, 2026 .

The remaining 1,58,677 electors comprise 43,000 deceased voters, 7,394 cases of multiple entries, and 1,08,283 electors who had either changed their place of residence or fall under other categories.

Addressing a press briefing held at Lamphel, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manipur Arun Kumar Sinha said that 92.42 per cent (19,34,399) per cent of voters have submitted their enumeration forms.

In the exercise, he said the Government officials identified 43,000 deceased voters and 7,394 duplicate electors enrolled at different places.

He further said that 1,08,283 electors were found to have either shifted to other States or Union Territories, were untraceable or absent, or had not submitted their enumeration forms for other reasons.

The CEO added that the SIR exercise was successfully carried out by 16 District Election Officers (DEOs), 60 Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), 84 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), 317 Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisors and 2,956 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) .

He said the exercise received the support and cooperation of all 10 recognised political parties in the State.

The CEO further stated that special arrangements were made for internally displaced persons (IDPs) .

Explaining the process, Arun Kumar said the designated Nodal Officers delivered the enumeration forms to the IDPs at their relief camps.

Sinha further said the filled-up forms were then forwarded to the Electoral Registration Officers concerned through the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur to facilitate the participation of IDPs in the exercise.

He said the number of polling stations in Manipur has been increased from 2,956 to 3,041 to limit the number of electors at each polling station to around 1,200 .

Stating that the draft electoral rolls for all 60 Assembly Constituencies have been published, he said that electors and recognised political parties may file claims and objections from July 5 to August 4, 2026 .

He said the final electoral roll will be published on September 6, 2026 .
