Imphal, October 04 2024:
Another reckless Meitei youth has been literally rescued from possible death or captivity after he was detained by the Makhan village authority on the way to Leimakhong last night.
The incident took place some hours after two youths from Thoubal who were kept hostage for six days from September 27 by Kuki militants were safely released through CoTU to Kangpokpi district police last morning.
Locals of Makhan came across the Meitei youth coming on a Yezdi bike along Imphal-Dimapur highway at around 10.50 pm yesterday.

On questioning, the Meitei youth identified himself as Loitongbam Rajesh Singh (25) s/o L Chourajit Singh of Heirok Part II, Thokchom Leirak.
Subsequently the Makhan village authority informed Sekmai police station about detention of the Meitei youth.
Later, the youth was brought back to Sekmai police station at around 11.35 last night.
Sources said that Loitongbam Rajesh Singh was going to Leimakhong alone on his bike to meet his girlfriend and to hand over a mobile phone handset to his girlfriend.
