The office of the Superintendent of Police, Senapati was vandalised and his official vehicle overturned as the picketing of Government offices by ANSAM turned ugly at the district headquarters today.

During the course of the protest on Tuesday at Senapati headquarters, the official vehicle of the Superintendent of Police (SP) was overturned by irate student leaders.
According to sources, a scuffle broke out following a confrontation, allegedly triggered by non-compliance from the SP, leading to a heated scuffle.
The student leaders alleged that the district SP gave the order to one CRPF personnel to load the gun and had threatened the student leaders that led to the overturning of his vehicle.
Addressing the media, SDSA president Saloni Tony said that a very unfortunate incident took place at Senapati.
When a team of student leaders from ANSAM and SDSA were enforcing the 48 hours office picketing at Mini Secretariat, Senapati, the incident happened due to alleged provocation from the SP office since yesterday.
The student leaders alleged that the SP increased the scale of provocation by giving the order to a CRPF personnel to load the service weapon and threatening the student leaders and volunteers.
The SDSA president also condemned the role of the Addl SP (Law & Order) who allegedly played hand in glove with the SP to provoke and escalate the situation.
He demanded an unconditional apology from the SP and his office.
Saloni Tony has demanded transfer of the SP and the Addl SP (L&O) within 48 hours.
Meanwhile ANSAM has claimed that the picketing of Government offices has concluded successfully in the hill districts predominantly inhabited by Nagas.
A press release issued by ANSAM said that Government offices were picketed in protest against the scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the construction of border fence in "Naga homeland" .
"We are ending the office picketing today, but our people's movement will continue until there is a complete stoppage of border fencing and reinstatement of the FMR in our homeland," ANSAM said.
