The women wing of the Campaign for Just and Fair Delimitation (JFD) has stated that five more MLAs have endorsed its demand for updating the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the Census in Manipur.
In a statement, the JFD said its women wing members met MLAs Nishikant Singh Sapam (Keishamthong), Yumnam Radheshyam (Hiyanglam), Achab Uddin (Jiribam), Paonam Brojen (Wangjing Tentha) and Khwairakpam Raghumani (Uripok) on the fourth day of its signature campaign today.

The five MLAs signed a declaration paper expressing their support for the NRC movement, it added.
Saying that the JFD also submitted a five-point memorandum to the MLAs, highlighting concerns over illegal immigrants and the proposed census exercise, it added that the MLAs extended their support to the movement to address the issue of illegal immigration.
The JFD has been carrying out a movement under the banner of "No NRC, No Census", demanding identification of illegal immigrants before any census-related work is undertaken in Manipur.
