Organic outlet opened in UAE

An outlet for organic produces from Manipur was opened today at shop no 2, New Public Market, Ajman, UAE.
The outlet which would sell fresh, dry and other organic products from Manipur was opened by Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Arun Kumar Sinha through video conferencing.
At Ajman, UAE, the outlet was physically opened by Agriculture Director Peter Salam, Horticulture and Soil Conservation Director K Devdutta Sharma and senior officials of Agriculture and Horticulture.
After opening the outlet through video conferencing at New Secretariat here, Arun Kumar Sinha said that the outlet opened today in UAE would promote organic produces of Manipur at the international level.
This would also help in branding Manipur as an organic State, he said.
The outlet would provide an alternative market to the State's farmers producing organic produces.
It would also enlarge the market for the State's organic produces and open new avenues of agribusiness, Arun Kumar Sinha said.
He said that many organic produces have been already marketed in different States of India and abroad.
He said that the Manipur Organic Mission Agency's (MOMA) new initiative will go a long way in branding Manipur as an organic State at the international level.
The Principal Secretary (Agriculture) also conveyed gratitude to officials of Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, other stakeholders as well as Manipur Middle East Foodstuff Trading, a company run by Manipuri diaspora in UAE for their contributions in opening the outlet.
