Imphal, September 01 2026: Senior IAS officer Rajeev Singh Thakur has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Manipur with immediate effect.

Special Secretary Lourembam Bikram issued an order to this effect today.

Rajeev Singh Thakur, an IAS officer of 1995 batch belonging to the Rajasthan cadre was deputed to Manipur cadre by an order issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India on August 28, 2026 .

He will now replace Puneet Kumar Goel as the Chief Secretary of Manipur.

In addition to being the Chief Secretary (DP/Cabinet/Planning), Rajeev singh Thakur has also been appointed as the Chief Vigilance Commissioner and the Principal RC of Manipur Bhavan, New Delhi.
