RIMS organises Swachhta Health camps

In connection with the observance of International Day of Older Persons, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised Swachhta Health Camps on Friday at Senior Citizen Home in Kongba, Imphal East, and Mongsangei Old Age Home in Imphal West on Sunday.
The camps aimed at extending essential healthcare to the elderly catered to needs of about 40 senior citizens.
A statement issued by RIMS media cell informed that a dedicated team of doctors from RIMS provided specialised care across various departments, including ENT, Eye Care, Clinical Psychology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), and Physiology.
Medicines were also distributed.
The RIMS team further uplifted the event's spirit by distributing gifts and food items to the senior citizens.
Nodal Officer for the SAP/Kaya Kalp 2024-25, Prof Y Govindaraj led the outreach programme, providing hands-on treatment and encouraging seniors to seek medical assistance when needed.
He said that the health camp is part of RIMS' broader outreach efforts under Special Campaign 4.0, aimed at strengthening community healthcare.
The event also included an awareness session on organ donation, engaging the elderly in vital health conversations,
