Police, IAS officers get new postings

Imphal, February 26 2025:
Continuing with the reshuffling of top civil and police officers after promulgation of the President's Rule in the state, the government of Manipur on Wednesday effected transfer of nine senior police officers and five IAS and forest service officers.
As per separate notifications issued in the past 48 hours, Shivanand Surve has been put in charge as superintendent of police (SP) of Thoubal district, Th Vikramjit Singh posted as 10th IRB commandant, Dharmendra Kumar appointed as SP of Senapati district, Priyadarshini Laishram as SP of Kakching district, S Ibomcha as commandant of 6th IRB with additional charge of the Commando SP, and Sheikh Mohammed Zaib Zakir as SP of Jiribam district.
The government also shuffled the posts of five IAS and Indian Forest Service officials with immediate effect.
Of them, Anurag Bajpai, who is Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce and Industries), has been given additional charge of Tribal Affairs and Hills, H Gyan Prakash entrusted to handle higher and technical education as well as SCERT and AE as the commissioner-cum-secretary, Naorem Praveen given additional charge of Secretary Education - Schools, besides his present assignment as secretary (MA, OBC & SC and YAS) and director of Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency, M Joy as special commissioner-cum-secretary of Art and Culture, and Hungyo Worshang as PHED and IPR secretary and commissioner of excise.
President's rule was imposed in strife-torn Manipur on February 13, days after Chief Minister N Biren Singh resigned from his post which led to political uncertainty in the northeastern state.
The Manipur assembly, which has a tenure till 2027, has been put under suspended animation.
