Abdul Kadir case: Police nab prime accused Khaba

Police arrested Longjam Boy alias Khaba, the prime accused in the murder of Chesam Abdul Kadir of Paobitek Mayai Leikai, who was found dead/buried on June 11 on the Imphal river bank, on Sunday around 6.50 pm.
According to reports, a police team arrested Longjam Boy alias Khaba (35) s/o Ibohal of Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong, from Mongsangei Makha Leikai around 6.50pm.Khaba is said to be the leader of Arambai Tenggol Unit 27.So far, 10 persons have been arrested in connection with the case, of which seven are members of AT Unit 27 .
Police are still continuing the investigation, the report conveyed.
Mention may be made here that Abdul Kadir, a differently-abled person, was beaten up on the night of June 11 on allegations of theft.
However, he went missing shortly after and the family filed a missing report to the police.
During the course of investigation, two people were arrested, who revealed the whereabouts of Abdul Kadir's body eventually exhumed from Samurou Naorem area.
Condemning the killing, the people of Paobitek had staged protests demanding justice in the case.
