Imphal, May 22 2025:
The proscribed People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PJREPAK) and its armed wing, Red Army, have condoled the death of 'private' Moirangthem Nanao alias Ngamba, a cadre of Meeyamgi Yawol Lanmee (MYL), the armed wing of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), who was killed during an encounter along the Myanmar border on May 19 .
In a statement, PREPAK paid revolutionary salute to the slain fighter and expressed pride in his courage and sacrifice for the motherland.
It said that the cadre died in an exchange of fire with a joint team of Indian forces and what it described as their "proxy force", KNA (B), near the Myanmar border.
The PREPAK also linked the death to a broader policy allegedly pursued by the Government of India to eliminate indigenous people Kangleipak (Manipur).
Reflecting on the May 20 Gwaltabi incident, in which personnel of the Mahar Regiment asked for the word "Manipur" to be removed or concealed from a Manipur State Transport bus, PREPAK described the action as a clear instance of the agenda to erase indigenes.
"What was once a secret campaign is now becoming public," it said and called for strengthening unity in the fight against such measures.
The statement further informed that PREPAK and its Red Army paid their highest honour to the deceased fighter and expressed solidarity with KYKL over the loss.
It also extended condolences to the bereaved family, friends and relatives of 'Pvt' Nanao and shared their grief and pain, praying for peace for the departed soul.
