Kumbi SDC office reopens after five years

The office of SDC Kumbi Circle, which was set up in 2011 to facilitate revenue related works in Kumbi assembly constituency but ceased functioning since 2016, has resumed operation from Tuesday with the intervention of Kumbi MLA S Premchandra.
The reopening function of the SDC office was attended by minister Th Basantakumar Singh, Thanga MLA T Robindro Singh, Moirang MLA Th Shanti Singh, Kumbi MLA S Premchandra, former Kumbi MLA S'Bira Singh, BJP Bishnupur District Committee president RK Bimola Devi, Kumbi Mandal president S Angousana Singh, social worker N Ibobi Singh, Saiton Zila Parishad member Md Bhorpt, Wangoo Terakhong Gram Panchayat pradhan P Baleshore and SDC Kumbi Circle MD Salaoddin Khan as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, minister Basanta expressed confidence that reopening of the SDC office w ill help accelerate development in the area.
As people have elected a true representative, the MLA has started working for the welfare of the denizens of the AC, he said.
Further stating that de-velopmentalworks could be expedited in the state as the new government commands comfortable majority, Basanta also informed that the government has made preparation for taking up various development works within 100 days in the state including in Kumbi AC.
He then called upon both the public and staff members of the SDC Kumbi office to ensure that it functions properly and urged the people for extending support to the new government's endeavour to execute works on long-term basis as opposed to earlier government which lacked farsightedness.
