Protest held over killing of abductees

Imphal, November 17 2024:
The indefinite relay hunger strike organised by Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup at Uripok Canteen from Saturday onwards demanding terrorist tag to all Kuki organisations and arrest of culprits involved in killing of six Jiribam villagers, continued for the second day Sunday.
The 48-hour total shutdown called in Uripok area was also imposed on Sunday with all shops remaining shut.
Meanwhile, children staged a sit-in protest at Yaipha Thouni community hall, Keishampat Leimajam Leikai on Sunday demanding safety of children.
At the protest organised under the aegis of United Club Organisation (UCM), a joint body of 10 clubs of Kangabam Leikai and Nepra Menjor Leikai, the protesting children held placards like 'Silence is not the solution, take action, punish killers'; 'Territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised'; 'Minister, MLA resign, if you cannot rule'; 'PM, Union home minister, CM where is right to life in Manipur'; 'Security advisor, DGP where is rule of law'; 'Revoke, remove AFSPA from Manipur'; 'Abrogate SoO', etc.
