Imphal, February 15 2025: While demanding a new government within a week, Shiv Sena Manipur unit president M Tombi has strongly called for all the MLAs to resign if they cannot form a government and seek a fresh mandate from the electorate.

Addressing media persons at Shiv Sena state unit office at Babupara Saturday, M Tombi said people of Manipur do not want imposition of President's Rule in the state by the Centre.

Accordingly, a new government should be formed at the earliest possibly within a week in the interest of the people, or else all the MLAs should resign and seek a fresh mandate from the people, he said.

According to M Tombi, village volunteers who took up arms to defend fringe villages from relentless attacks from Kuki Narco-Terrorists for a long time cannot be arrested by imposing President's Rule.

He said that village volunteers are not anti-India or anti-nation but came out voluntarily for the defence of the land and this must be clearly understood by former chief minister.
