UCM team scans Sylhet Manipur Rajbari

United Committee Manipur (UCM) president Joychandra Konthoujam said that the committee will mount pressure on state leaders/officials on developing Manipur Rajbari at Sylhet in Bangladesh.
A team of UCM currently in Bangladesh as part of its 'Eegi Khongul Liba' mission inspected the Manipur Rajbari, where Maharaj Ghambhir Singh stayed during the time of Burmese invasion of Manipur known as Seven Years of Devastation.
The UCM team led by Joychandra, vice president YK Dhiren and general secretary Wareppam Second also interacted with Manipuris settling in Sylhet.
They held discussion with Bangladesh Manipuris led by Manipur Rajbhari, Sylhet Mahaprabu Mandir Shevayak G Ashok Sharma, Maibam Utam Singh, Y Nripendra Singh and Kh Shamendra.
They urged the UCM team to exert pressure on officials concerned of Manipur government to declare Manipur Rajbhari in Sylhet as protected area / archaeological monument through the intervention of the Government of India.
Later, the UCM team along with volunteers of Tapashya Performing Arts Centre conducted cleanliness drive at Maharaj Ghambhir Singh memorial complex.
