Folk singer Benita to perform in Dubai

Imphal, January 13 2025: Manipuri folk singer Benita Laishram will perform at the prestigious India Pavilion 2024-25, being held as part of the Global Village Dubai from October 16, 2024, till May 10, 2025 .

The event - celebrating India's cultural diversity - features Benita as one of its star attractions.

At just 24, Benita Laishram has already carved a niche in the world of folk music.

Her breakthrough came with a stellar fourth-place finish in Bharat Ka Amrit Kalash, India's first national folk song reality show, organised by Doordarshan Kendra and sponsored by the ministry of art and culture.

The competition aims trf revive traditional Indian folk music and highlight regional talent.

Having represented Manipur at the 19th Celebrating North East India Festival in Istanbul, Turkey, Benita's artistry has resonated with audiences worldwide.

A "B" Grade artiste at All India Radio, Imphal, she holds a diploma from the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy and has won accolades, including the Best Female Singer title at the 9th Nongin Manipur Music Video Competition 2024.At Global Village Dubai, Benita will perform during the Indian Cultural Festival, which runs from 7 pm to 10 pm.

Her performance will be part of a vibrant line-up of music, dance, and fashion that highlights India's artistic heritage.
