Mega assessment camp held; assistive devices distributed

Kakching, August 09 2025:
As part of the weeklong Mega Identification, Assessment and Aids and Device Distribution Camp for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), a two-day mega assessment camp commenced at K Koshang Memorial community hall, Khang-shim village, Chandel district, on Saturday.
The camp, held in commemoration of the 5th anniversary of the New Education Policy 2020 through the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam, was jointly organised by Samagra Shiksha/ Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Tengnoupal district project officer with Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Imphal; District Health Society (DHS), Tengnoupal Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK); District Disability Rehabilitation Centre (DDRC), Tengnoupal; and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) Regional Marketing Centre, Guwahati.
Under the Intervention of Integrated Education for Disabled Children (IED) and Inclusive Education for Disabled at Secondary Stage (IEDSS) initiative, assessments on 25 parameters including orthopaedic disability, intellectual disability, hearing impairment, and visual impairment were conducted.
Aids and assistive devices were also distributed to CWSN at the camp and will continue to be distributed during the remainder of the programme.
Meanwhile, Samagra Shiksha, Tengnoupal IED district co-ordinator Lanu Pinky Aimol informed that the camp will be held at Moreh Higher Secondary School on August 11 .
