Training on mushroom cultivation underway

A four-day training programme on cultivation of Sehizophyllum Commune (common name: Split-Gill Mushroom, local name: Kanglayen) and Pleurotus Mushroom organised by the Pambei-led UNLF's department of organisation commenced from Sunday at their Yaithibi Loukol camp.
The inaugural function of the training programme aimed at increasing food production was attended by the organisation's Kakching district secretary Taton, and Federation of Civil Societies (FOCS) Manipur general secretary Angom Punilkumar as presidium members.
Thabal Leima Mycelia managing director B Khogen, who attended as resource person, spoke on different topics such as 'Introduction of Sehizophyllum Commune (Kanglayen), Cultivation of Sehizophyllum Commune, Pests and Diseases of Mushroom their Prevention and Control, Cost Cultivation of Sehizophyllum Commune (Kanglayen)' .
Apart from the cadres of the Front, locals residents of Langthabal Khunou, Khongjom, Tekcham, and Tentha area taking part in the training.
On the second day, Khogen Sharma will provide hands-on training on cultivation of Kanglayen.
Pureiromba Farm Pvt Ltd managing director Angom Punil will speak on 'Introduction of Mushroom Cultivation of Pleurotus Mushroom, Pest and Diseases of Mushroom their Prevention and Control, Cost Cultivation of Pleurotus Mushroom.
On the third day hands-on training on cultivation of the mushroom species, also known as oyster mushroom, will be conducted.
