PSDC demands capital punishment to student slayer

Private Schools' Development Council (PSDC), Thoubal district has strongly condemned the murder of a minor girl student of Ibemhal Vishal Academy, Khongjom Sapam, who was on her way to school on Thursday morning and demanded capital punishment to the culprit.
Addressing a press meet at Fancier Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Okram on Friday, PSDC secretary general Jotin Salam expressed heartfelt condolences over the untimely death of the 6th standard student and condemned the gruesome murder in the strongest term.
He termed the incident as an attack on the whole student community of the state and demanded trial by a fast track court for swift award of capital punishment to the culprit.
He urged local clubs and Meira Paibi groups to take a firm stand against drug addicts to prevent similar unwanted incidents in the future called upon the government to provide psychological counselling to the victim's family members, who are facing trauma after the incident.
Further highlighting the importance of giving proper treatment during the golden hour of any physical trauma, he drew attention of the government to upgrade the Thoubal District Hospital with better facilities so that accident victims or patients with serious conditions could be treated without wasting precious time in referring to another hospital in Imphal.
