Early release of relief fund sought

Imphal, July 06 2024: Displaced people from Moreh who are taking shelter in different relief camps set up in valley areas have urged the government to release the assured relief fund at the earliest.

Speaking in this regard, displaced people from Moreh who are taking shelter at Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex recalled that the government had announced to provide Rs one lakh to the affected people in four phases from the interim relief fund.

It would be more fitting if the relief fund is provided in one phase, they opined, while urging to release the fund at the earliest as they have been taking shelter in the relief camps for more than 14 months.

The pain of living in relief camp will be known by only those staying in the relief camps, they said.
