N Kayisii takes stock of COVID-19 situation in Tadubi AC

49-Tadubi (ST) AC MLA, N Kayisii appraised the COVID-19 situation in the constituency today.
N Kayisii along with Ningreingam Leisan, MCS, SDO Tadubi also visited the Community Home Isolation Centre at Hill College, Tadubi.
Later, the team visited PHC Maram & PHC Tadubi and interacted with the MOs and staff of the centres.
The MLA also took the feedback from the village authorities of some villages in the constituency, about the awareness and precautions of Covid-19.N Kayisii stated that personal visits and interaction with the villagers to access direct information on Covid-19 situation is necessary as many people in the rural areas are not well informed and have apprehensions and misconceptions about the pandemic.
He said that the medical teams are doing their best to carry out their duties in spite of the many challenges and limitations faced by them.
It may be mentioned that PHC Tadubi which is one of the oldest Health Centres in the district is operated by 3 doctors and 5 nurses with no lab technician and Grade-IV staff.
The Centre has only one B-Type oxygen cylinder and is without many basic facilities including PPE kits, medicines, etc.
The PHC is catering both 48-Mao and 49-Tadubi people apart from many others from the surrounding area.
There are 5 doctors and 6 nurses posted at Maram PHC along with some supporting staff.
The Centre has one ambulance stationed at the centre and one oxygen (B-Type) cylinder.
N Kayisii stated that so far, 362 persons have tested COVID-19 from Tadubi and.
325 persons from Maram PHC while adding that fortunately only one COVID-19 fatality has been reported in the constituency.
He said that about 1500 people have been vaccinated at the health centres till date.
The MLA assured to look into the immediate requirements and necessities of all the health centres to combat the pandemic.
He further extended his appreciation to the medical teams who are working at the front lines to save lives even at this critical juncture.
Later, N Kayisii also handed over medicines to the people of Oklong village.
