Kangpokpi, January 03 2025: In light of escalation of violence in Kangpokpi district headquarters on Friday night, District Magistrate (DM) Mahesh Chaudhari has issued a directive to Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of Kangpokpi, Champhai, Saitu-Gamphazol, Saikul, and Lhungtin to remain stationed at their respective headquarters and be available for duty at all times.

The order, effective immediately, prohibited the SDMs from leaving their headquarters without prior approval from the DM.

It emphasised the need for continuous monitoring of developments, close coordination with law enforcement agencies, and prompt administrative action to ensure the safety and security of residents in their jurisdictions.
