RIMS observes Vigilance Awareness Week

Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 organised under the theme 'Culture of Integrity for Nation's Prosperity' by Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal commenced on Monday.
The observance programme held at the RIMS Banting Hall is aimed at promoting values of transparency, honesty, and ethical conduct as essential pillars for achieving a corruption-free and prosperous nation, according to a statement issued by RIMS Media Cell.
In his address at the opening ceremony, RIMS director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma accentuated the need for fostering a culture of integrity in both professional and personal spheres.
"Integrity is the cornerstone of institutional success and national development.
We must work collectively to embed transparency, accountability, and ethical standards in our actions to realise the vision of a prosperous and corruption-free country," he stated, calling for unified efforts in promoting ethical values.
He encouraged different departments under the RIMS to organise various activities, including interactive sessions and sensitisation programmes, to educate and inspire all participants.
"These events aim to reinforce the role of each citizen in contributing to a corruption-free society, with special emphasis on the healthcare sector's unique responsibilities in upholding vigilance and ethical practices," he stressed.
Among others, the inauguration was attended by RIMS hospital medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib, deputy director (administration) RK Mecolt, chief administrative officer/financial advisor Sairem Sarat, dean of academics Prof Brogen Singh Akoijam, as well as the sub-dean and principal of the Dental College, heads of departments, nursing officials, faculty, and staff members, the statement added.
