TYCM elects new officials, mourns loss of TMNL leaders

Imphal, October 26 2024: Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters elected its new office bearers in a meeting on Saturday during which the Council also condoled the untimely demise of two tribal leaders of the Tangkhul Mayai Ngala Long (TMNL).

Thangmeingam Awungshi was elected as vice-president, Titus Golmei as secretary of finance, Manonbou as secretary of media & information, and Ningpem Awungshi as secretary of programme department of the council, informed TYCM in a statement.

The statement also conveyed the grief of the executive council members on the untimely deaths of TMNL president Themmaso Tallanao, and assistant general secretary Masothing Mungshon.

The two leaders tragically lost their lives on Thursday while carrying out organisational responsibilities near Shingcha village junction in KamjOng district.

TYCM-GHQ said that their loss has left an immeasurable void in the tribal community and among the Tangkhul people.

Extending its condolences to the bereaved families of Tallanao and Mangshon, as well as to the TMNL executives, the Council prayedthat such tragic incidents never recur.
