Thoubal, July 26 2025:
Reacting against the disruption caused to water supply Scheme construction at Moijing Khongkok under the Har Ghar Jal Jivan Mission, a public meeting was held at Moijing Meena bazar, on Friday.
Speaking at the public meeting jointly organised by Moijing Meena Bazar Development Committee and Water Supply Development Committee, Moijing, committee secretary Tamizur Ra-haman clarified that the land on which the water supply scheme is being constructed originally belonged to one Lairen Ambu of Moijing Makha.
However, the land was abandoned during the construction of the Mayang Imphal Road and has since come under state ownership.
He expressed disappointment over the claim made by the Education Guide Centre (EGC) of Moijing that the land belongs to them, calling the claim baseless.
He urged that the case filed by the EGC in court to stop the construction work be withdrawn and requested the authorities not to give undue importance to the issue.
He further appealed that the construction work be allowed to continue in the interest of the public.
The public meeting also adopted several resolutions which included - continuation of the construction of the water supply scheme, public participation on the day of the court hearing, and a united stand by the public against any attempt to disrupt the construction process.
