AMGSU gives peace call on foundation day

All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) celebrated its 57th foundation day at Kanglatongbi community hall on Wednesday.
In a release, AMGSU informed that the celebration was held with Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat ex-pradhah Meena Bista as chief guest and AMGSU president LB Adhikari as functional president, while The Roses English School principal Mani Kumar Limbu, The Froebel English School principal Gopal Limbu, Irang Part-2 Government High School headmaster and State Teacher-2024 awardee Binod Kumar Sharma and Kalapahar High School headmaster Indra Kumar Bista were guests of honour.
HSSLC Examination-2024 Nepali subject topper Akash Thapa Magar of Thaldara Irang Part-1 and Hindi topper Rosy Rai of 9th Mile Poudel Basti Irang Part-1 were felicitated at the function along with handing over of the Madan Kumar Limbu Qne Time Girls Scholarship Award-2024 to six Gorkha girls namely Rekha Khadka and Kritika Chhetry of Goma Devi High School, Toribari; Soniya Bhujel of T Waichong High School and Anu Bhujel, Sarita Gautam and Priyanka Basnet of Hindi Secondary School, Kanglatongbi, who all passed the HSLC Examination-2023 from government schools.
According to the release, different persons who were successful in exams like NEET, SSC UPSC, NORCET, and excelled in sports and others fields belonging to the Gorkha community of the state were also honoured.
The union called upon all the communities to join hands for bringing peace and normalcy in the state and also urged effective measures from the central and state governments to restore peace.
